Road Passenger Transport

Give your drivers a leading edge by getting them formally accredited. AUK makes accreditation easy. We’ll provide your drivers with the development and accreditation your business needs.

  • A development programme tailored to your business needs
  • ‘On the job’ development and assessment
  • Nationally recognised qualifications for your drivers
  • AUK are members of CPT
  • Our flexible approach can meet any need
  • Drivers will always be compliant with legislation

There is growing pressure from local and national government, and from industry and passenger groups, for all professional drivers of passenger vehicles to be formally accredited. AUK will help you to respond to this pressure by providing vocational qualifications for your drivers.

AUK can provide tailored development programmes for:

  • Bus and coach drivers
  • Taxi drivers
  • Drivers of private hire vehicles
  • Chauffeurs

We are members of The Confederation of Passenger Transport UK (CPT), the government-recognised trade association for the bus, coach and light rail industries. This ensures that all our Road Passenger Transport programmes are designed around the latest legislation, regulation, practices and standards for the industry.

Wherever there is a need we will find a way to deliver an accredited programme. For example, we are working through the Private Hire Association to deliver competence based qualifications to Hackney cab drivers at Birmingham Airport. As with all our programmes the delivery has been designed to create minimum disruption for the candidates. Our assessors have voice recorders and cameras so that they can gather necessary evidence as the drivers work – and they are happy to fit around the drivers’ shift patterns. This flexibility is typical of all AUK’s programmes.

Testimonials

"Assessment UK Ltd started delivering the NVQ Level 2 qualification to our drivers at the beginning of 2009 and whilst the drivers were initially very sceptical about the whole process, they soon began to realise that acquisition of the qualification could be fun at the same time as being beneficial. Many drivers commented that although they thought they could not be taught anything, they very quickly discovered how much more there was to learn and that no-one can ever know it all".
