Periodic Training

Assessment UK has developed a flexible and comprehensive range of courses to fulfil the requirements of the 35 hours of periodic training for the Driver CPC in both the passenger transport and logistics sectors.

To make it as flexible as possible for your drivers, each of our courses is designed to last 7 hours and can be taken either in one day or over two half-day sessions within a 24-hour period. You can choose whether you want your drivers to complete all of the required 35 hours over a short period of time, or whether you would prefer them to spread the training over a longer period and take, for example, one course each year within the 5 year time frame.

Each of our courses covers part of the required syllabus and you can choose the order in which your drivers take the courses. If your drivers have particular needs in any of the areas, we can make sure that these are fully covered for your organisation.

Driver hours + WTD:

• Breakdown of the rules.
• Discussing each element of the driver’s hours & WTD.

Health & Safety in Logistics:

• Manual handling.
• Safe loading techniques.
• General safety issues within the industry.

Load security & vehicle legal compliance:

• Different load security methods discussed.
• Understanding forces placed on loads in transit.
• Vehicle weight restrictions & loading vehicle accordingly.

Digital Tachograph:

• Discussion around the legislation, company and driver’s responsibilities.
• Training on the use of the digital Tachograph, using computerised simulators for both Siemens & Stoneridge digital Tachograph.
